Diese Ausgabe der King James Version in Roman-Schrift ist wunderschön gestaltet und sehr gut lesbar, ich bin wirklich begeistert von dieser wunderschönen 400-Jahres-Ausgabe.

Die Ausgabe der König-James-Version in Roman-Schrift ist sehr schön und gut lesbar, allerdings ist die Qualität des Leders etwas an der oberen Grenze.

As shown in the title page of the book, this is “The Holy Bible Quatercentenary Edition an exact reprint in Roman type page for page, line for line, and letter for letter of the King James Version otherwise known as the Authorized Version published in the year 1611 with an anniversary essay by Gordon Campbell” (Oxford University Press, 2010).The main difference between this edition (2010) and the first edition (1611) is the typeface (font) – the former uses the Roman type, while the latter uses a black-letter (or Gothic) type. (It is mentioned in the title of the book and in the essay by Gordon Campbell, as well as the product description above – “[t]he text features an easy-to-read modern font instead of the black-letter type of the original.”)Oxford University Press published their first roman type edition in 1833. The difference between this edition (2010) and the 1833 edition is the decorative initial capitals that begin each chapter, which this edition has but the 1833 edition does not. This edition also contains the Apocrypha, first edition (1611) does but a lot of KJV editions do not.As its tittle states, the text is reprinted faithfully to the original edition (1611); even tiny typographical errors are reproduced, e.g., “chidren” [children] (Genesis 33:2), “oner” [over] (Jeremiah 32:41), “Facher” [Father] (James 1:27), etc. But, the more important, not all, errors are listed in the ERRATA section (following the Campbell’s essay); if you worry about those errors, you can consult the section for their corrections. The Campbell’s essay also provides the details of typographical differences between 1611 and modern ones, which can be helpful for some readers. The essay is a compressed version of his book “Bible: The Story of the King James Version 1611-2011”; if you are only interested in his essay, then it might be better off just getting his book.It is a beautiful book. For this price range, this is possibly the best KJV edition you can find, in term of both contents and quality. If you are looking for a high quality authentic KJV Bible at reasonable price, then this one definitely is for you.

Die KJV in ihrer originalen Schreibweise mit allen Druckfehlern aber in lateinischen Buchstaben (statt gotischen) in einem Nachdruck einer alten Oxford-Ausgabe von 1833 und in feinster Qualität gedruckt in China. Was soll man da noch sagen? Und bei dem Preis, ein Wunder!
