Landy, Derek: Demon Road 02. Desolation

Dieser zweite Band ist ein fantastisches und fesselndes Abenteuer, das mich von Seite zu Seite zieht; die Atmosphäre und die Spannung sind absolut großartig!

Dieser zweite Band von Derek Landys fantastischem übernatürlichem Thriller ist absolut fesselnd und liefert spannende Wendungen, die man nicht aus den Augen lassen kann. Ich bin total begeistert von dieser düsteren und packenden Geschichte!

Super!

...und ich kann das nächste Buch kaum erwarten. Ich mag den Schreibstil einfach. Und als Nicht-Muttersprachler kommt man auch ohne Wörterbuch gut durch. Keine Ahnung warum Herr Landy weibliche Hauptpersonen so gut beschreiben kann - ob nun Valkyrie oder Amber, man hat immer das Gefühl mit denen in einer Clique zu sein ;)

… als das erste Buch. Sprachstil und Humor sind wie bei dem Autor bekannt sehr flüssig und gut geschrieben. Die story Wendungen sind erneut reichlich und gut nachvollziehbar, wieder ein sehr schönes Ende. Ich kaufe gleich Bd. 3, lohnt sich definitiv!

The second book felt way more coordinated and structured than the first. Unlike the first book, “Desolation” has a somewhat continuous plot, that still sometimes seems a bit all over the place but the bigger picture is there. We meet new characters and I really like the new forming dynamics of them. We get a somewhat homoerotic bromance of two old actors, that despite hating each other, can’t really live without each other; we get a scooby-doo like friend group and we finally get a love interest for amber. I love me some hot demon fighting lesbians. The ending absolutely shattered me and I hate that they didn’t get a happy end but I guess that doesn’t come in handy for demon girls with human girlfriends.Even though all the new characters are super interesting and bring new dynamics with them, not all of them seem three dimensional. I would have loved to get to know some of them a little bit more, but maybe the third book will fulfill this.All in all I enjoyed this book much more than the first book and I didn’t even think that was possible. There was not one passage that felt boring or unnecessary.
