Raven's Shadow 01 ist ein fantastisches Abenteuer, das mich sofort in die Welt der Orden zieht. Die Geschichte ist spannend und fesselnd, und ich kann es jedem empfehlen.

I am always looking for a good book between books of my favorite authors (Abercrombie, Feist, Mark lawrence, Brent weeks e.t.c) and took a chance on Anthony with his series and I must say that I was very well rewarded. I have now added him to my list and are looking for everything that he has written. Good book with a good story that keeps you up at night wanting to finish the next chapter, and the next...

Eine schöne Fantasy-Saga, die in einer mittelalterlichen Welt spielt. Handwerklich sehr gut gemacht. Die Erzählperspektive wechselt und die gesamte Geschichte ist durch eine Rahmenhandlung spannend aufgebaut.Inhaltlich mit Elementen der Charakterentwicklung, Politik, Intrigen, Kampf und Krieg. Kein High-Fantasy mit Elfen und Zauberern.Für mich persönlich ein schöner Lesegenuss, angenehm erzählt und die ein oder andere Überraschung. Ziemlich zum Ende hin trifft der Hauptcharakter eine echt krasse Entscheidung - Respekt dafür. Hat mich persönlich sehr beeindruckt.Kein Kinderbuch - es geht bisweilen schon sehr rauh und gnadenlos zur Sache.

Blood Song follows this kid, Vaelin, who’s put in the Sixth Order to grow up as a fighter. We watch him become a man and all his adventures on the way there.Let’s be honest here: Vaelin is a Mr Goody Two Shoes. He always knows the difference between good and evil. There are no hard choices he has to make. And in the end, everyone just loves him, no matter what he did. He’s virtuous, polite, well educated, and so on. Still, I like him.In the end, I liked the writing style and the characters. I can’t say much more about it. It’s a bunch of trials, a couple of fights, and some mysteries (which everyone except our protagonist always seems to know the answers to). There are politics, religions, and an underlying threat to the world as we know it. But the most important aspect seems to be the relationship between Vaelin and his brothers. And I like books about friendship.
