The complete story has some interesting developments, but the main characters remain mostly one dimensional. The battle scenes are quite well described but are very brutal (as battle is wont to be...) the same goes for torture scenes and such. I question the need for such grafic detail, because the story does not become better nor the charcters deeper by adding splatter and gore...
