Ein wirklich fesselndes und überraschendes Thriller, das mich packt, obwohl ich eine kleine Einschränkung hätte. Die Atmosphäre ist hervorragend und die Wendungen sind brillant umgesetzt.

Ein wirklich fesselnder und überraschender Thriller, der die Spannung hervorragend aufrechterhält. Die Geschichte ist sehr packend, auch wenn man ein paar Momente als etwas zu langsam empfinden kann.

I don’t know what to say. This book was insanely addictive. Jason is a teacher who wonders what he could’ve achieved if he had pursued his career in science. His wife Daniela wonders what she could’ve achieved if she’d pursued her career as an artist and if she hadn’t gotten pregnant with their son. But Jason and Daniela decided to put family first. They’re happy but wistful, secretly envying the successful careers of their friends, and wondering what would’ve happened if they made different choices.Well, careful what you wish for... Jason is about to find out all kinds of things that happened in different lives, and some of them are like straight out of nightmares.I got sucked in big time. Once the plot started to unravel it was hard to put down; I felt like I was stuck on a terrifying roller coaster ride. The theme of “paths not taken” resonated with me, probably because I’m totally guilty of pondering what I could have been if I’d made different choices in life. I went in expecting a straightforward scifi thriller; I was surprised how deeply the story touched me. I came out with a strong sense of gratitude for the good things in my life (and isn’t it just wonderful when a book makes you feel this way?). No point in pining after the other paths you could’ve taken—there’s no guarantee they would have made you any happier.
