Trigger Mortis: A James Bond Novel

Since the work of Ian Fleming a couple of writers have had the honor to continue the adventures of James Bond. Since I have read all the sequels, I have a good comparison to the latest installment of the series."Trigger Mortis" is solid Bond fiction, situated in the 60s, right after the Goldfinger incident. This close relation helps Horowitz to fulfill his Claim "to write this novel like Fleming himself". Even some parts from an unpublished Fleming short Story were used. The apperance of Pussy Galore (still the best Bond Girl Name) is fun but also irritating, because she seems unsecure and torn between the sexes.The plot features some nice climaxes, even though I was a bit disappointed after the end fight against the main villain.All in all a good read, surely better than Selbastian Falks try and slightly better than the Deaver Bond. After all, still the best Bond novels were written by John Gardner in the 80s. His books are in my opinion the benchmark for every new author. Horowitz is great and I love his Sherlock reboots. He has certainly potential for another Bond novel and might want to add some more suspense, action and charisma to our hero.Another solution: bring back Gardner!
