Dieses Buch ist ein fantastischer Höhepunkt der Outlander-Reihe und fesselt mich von Seite zu Seite. Die Geschichte ist unglaublich spannend und die Atmosphäre der Zeit ist perfekt eingefangen.

Enjoyed the book.

After reading the first book in the series, I have bought everything written by Diana Gabaldon. Both in bookform and as audiobook. They are on constant repeat and I find it hard to motivate myself to read anything else. They have a very rare quality of getting you totally hooked / sucked into this historical world. The characters are layered and evolve, are human and fallible yet at the same time principled. You cannot but love them and the action keeps taking you through twists and turns. The story is lined with moments of deeper psychological and philosophical musings as well as a lot of humour, often derived from the juxtaposition of the two main protagonists being headstrong while also coming from different times and the confusion brought on by what is culturally acceptable (different) in both times.

Der (bisher) schwächste Teil einer großartigen Bücher Reihe. Ich habe bisher mit Begeisterung die ersten sechs Bänder der Reihe verschlungen, die mich bis auf The Fiery Cross alle in ihren Bann sogen.Das Buch an sich ist nicht schlecht, sogar gut, aber es entwickelt nicht den Sog, den die anderen Bände auf mich ausübten. Ich konnte das Buch gut zur Seite legen, was sich bei den anderen Teilen der Reihe immer wieder als sehr schwierig erwies. Im Vergleich mit den anderen Büchern der Reihe also leider schwach, aber ansonsten einfach ein gutes Buch, dass sich gut lesen lässt und gut geschrieben ist.Viel Spaß beim Lesen!
