Ein absolut großartiges Buch, das man unbedingt lesen sollte; die Geschichte ist fesselnd und die Qualität ist erstklassig.
Das muss schnell ins Deutsche übersetzt werden, es ist ein Jahrhundertroman. Zwei Mädchen wachsen im Armenviertel in Neapel der 1950er Jahre auf. Es gibt jede Menge ungeschriebene Gesetze, Frauen haben ein schweres Leben, Gewalt ist durchaus eine Lösung. Beide Mädchen wollen da raus, aber nur eine schafft es - und schreibt über ihre brillante Freundin, die ganz andere Wege gehen muss.
