Salvation Lost: A thrilling space adventure by a master of science fiction (The Salvation Sequence, 2)

This is an awesome second book in a series, that manages to be even more imaginative than the first book. There is so much going on, on different levels, and the second half of the book manages to question many of the beliefs one has been led to before - I have a hard time remembering a book that I found that fast moving and thrilling.

Peter F. Hamilton enttäuscht wieder nicht! Der Meister der Space Opera mit einem neuen grandiosen Werk!

Hamilton is far from his best here. I was under the impression that he did not know his way forward, i. e. that he had no overall final plan. E. g., the sudden appearance of an alien-built super weapon manned by the personality of a human (!) centuries-old self-made billionaire about to save the Universe from the God at the end of time leaves the impression of a stop-gap feature, like the appearance of a god or two at the end of an antique Greek tragedy. Also, contrary to previous plots (e. g. the Primes), the reader learns almost nothing about the Olyinx, so far. I am not looking forward to the sequel.
