Peace: A Sunday Times crime pick of the month (The Paul Hirsch mysteries)

Tiverton a year on and its Christmas time. The big summer holiday is about to start and nothing much happens. Paul Hirschhausen is busy in his local community. He is elected to play Santa for the village kids this year and he has to select the best Christmas lightshow in town. Then some ponies on an animal farm are slaughtered and Paul on top gets an urgent call from his new sergeant stationed in Redruth. After this any lingering illusion of peace evaporates like dew in the morning sun and local police staff is backed up by Adelaide and Sydney police to deal with the mayhem that is set loose. Perfect second Paul Hirsch mystery, fast and unpredictable. 5 stars!
