The Technology Illusion Revisited: Expert Perspectives on the Myth of Digital Transformation - Neuware

In a rapidly shifting landscape of business technology, established CIOs must continually reaffirm their relevance by demonstrating an extraordinary capacity for innovation and adaptation. In my view, the only way for existing CIOs to survive in their roles is to radically reinvent themselves. Unfortunately, much of the existing literature on digital transformation is naïve, misguided, or simply wrong, with far too many self-proclaimed "experts" attempting to make a name for themselves by claiming to know how to successfully drive digital transformation. In a field populated by questionable ex perts touting dubious success stories, Patrick Naef has carefully selected contributors who have either implemented genuine digital transformations or produced important academic research on the subject. Each of the chapters in the book offers a unique perspective informed by real-world engagement with the realities of possibilities of digital technology. By bringing together these disparate voices, the editor hopes to further clarify the transformative potential of digital technology, equipping the CIOs of today with the knowledge and insight necessary to thrive in the world of tomorrow.
