10 months ago I challenged myself to go vegan for one month (for health reasons, spoiler: I felt absolutely great). I’d loved eating any kind of foods my whole life and wasn’t sure it was for me.It encouraged me to also learn about the catastrophic environmental impact of a animal agriculture. Feeling powerless in the face of climate change, turning to a plant based diet started making sense to me.I’m from Switzerland and absolutely loved cheese, but deep down always knew it wasn’t so great for my digestion, skin and overall health. But then I learned about the processes that happens behind the scenes in the dairy industry (and other animal farming practices). After almost a year I do not miss it anymore.I used to joke about veganism and how it was way too extreme for me. But rarely has a change of behavior been so impactful and meaningful in my life.I initially feared the comments of other people around me, at home and at work. But the change has sparked curiosity and led to countless discussions. This book will no doubt help me bring a constructive and non-judgmental perspective to the table.Thank you Ed for your invaluable work and for such a well-researched and easy-to-read book.
